Program Design
We collaborate with philanthropic organizations to design grantmaking programs that go beyond simply funding projects. Grantmaking has the power to enhance leadership, strengthen connections and relationships, and increase local assets. We help organizations define their program goals in relation to the community's vision, implement practical tools and processes, and build effective partnerships with grantees and allies to continue learning how they can deepen impact.
Impact Assessment
Measuring the impact of programs that cannot be judged strictly by dollars spent and number of people served can be a huge challenge. We collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data to understand what difference a program has made in people's lives and how the organization can improve or amplify its outcomes. Learn how we worked with Sacred Fire Foundation to increase the impact of its unique programs to support Indigenous wisdom and promote systems change.
Training
We design and deliver tailored online and in-person training programs, workshops, and coaching in community-driven development and community philanthropy practices. Learn how we helped Confluence Environmental Center transform the core of its Americorps Member training program around equity, justice, and community-driven development principles.
Research
We write case studies, presentations, and journal articles on innovation, trends, and challenges in international community development and community philanthropy. Our work reaches a wide range of readers--from academic researchers to community practitioners to newcomers to the field who are looking for better ways to make a better world. Clients use our research to explore new program ideas within their own organizations, educate new audiences about their work, and influence development and philanthropy practice.
